250 kg de cocaína vindos do Paraguai foram apreendidos na tarde desta sexta-feira (5), na BR-101 (Rodovia Rio-Santos), em Paraty, na Costa Verde do Rio de Janeiro. De acordo com a Polícia Rodoviária Federal (PRF), esta foi a maior apreensão da droga no Brasil em 2014.

Ainda segundo a PRF, o carregamento, que seria entregue em favelas do Rio de Janeiro, estava escondido no forro do teto de uma van. O motorista, de 33 anos, e dois outros suspeitos, de 44 e 21 anos, que estavam em um carro que escoltava o veículo, foram presos em flagrante. A PRF confirmou também que etiquetas nas embalagens da carga indicam que a origem da droga é o Paraguai. Todos os presos devem responder por tráfico internacional de drogas.
A abordagem aconteceu durante operação de rotina na altura do km 578 da rodovia. Por volta de 19h30, o entorpecente estava com uma equipe da perícia no Instituto Médico Legal (IML) de Angra dos Reis. A ocorrência foi registrada na 166ª Delegacia de Polícia (Angra dos Reis).
